AEW’s Kyle O’Reilly And Bobby Fish Out With Injuries

AEW has had some incredibly bad luck in terms of injuries ahead of their Forbidden Door PPV. ReDRagon are the latest victims of this spell.

AEW has had some incredibly bad luck as of late. Several of their top stars are injured, most notably their current World Champion, CM Punk, who was injured just days after winning the title from Hangman Page. Another big name who’s been out of action for a while is Kenny Omega, whose presence has been especially sorely missed in the build-up to the Forbidden Door PPV.

ReDRagon On The Shelf

Tony Khan recently appeared on the AEW Unrestricted podcast and provided an update on the status of O’Reilly and Fish. The following transcription has been provided by Fightful.com:

Kyle O’Reilly, getting taken out by Sting, that’s a real life legitimate injury and Kyle O’Reilly is out, not sure how long, but it’s a big loss and we were not expecting that. He had been on fire for the company, it’s a big deal to lose Kyle O’Reilly. With Fish and O’Reilly being out, Fish just had a great main event with Darby on Rampage, that’s another big loss for the company, Fish, we expect back sooner from that ankle injury than O’Reilly with his injuries. Neither one is available for the pay-per-view. Kyle O’Reilly, we hope to get back soon. Bobby Fish, I know is going to be back soon.

Though their injuries don’t seem to be as severe as others on the roster, their absence will be yet another blow to the Forbidden Door PPV.

On The Forbidden Doorstep

Forbidden Door, perhaps the most highly anticipated PPV in AEW’s short history, is just 3 days away. The build to the show has been less than perfect, mostly on account of how many stars are currently out with injuries. There are, however, some exciting matches to look forward too, including a triple-threat match for the IWGP and ROH Tag Team Championships. Fans will have to go into Sunday with a positive attitude and hope that AEW’s spell of bad luck wears off.
